I Need Your Help, Dear Friends

, ,

I need your help, dear friends. I am applying to a Master’s Program to take the coursework recommended for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst exam. My goal is to work with children here in Kentucky who don’t have insurance that covers ABA. I also hope to take courses in writing to continue encouraging parents here on this blog.

The Problem

I am writing a Statement of Purpose (SOP) as part of the application process. In fact, it’s one of the most important parts of the application. I’m stuck on what should be the easiest of all – the introduction, which is a brief description of my background steering me to the Master’s program.

My mind and heart are full of information and various experiences with autism. I feel like I’m trying to condense a life time of heartaches, triumphs, and education into one brief paragraph.

How You Can Help

I decided to turn to you, my dear friends, for help. I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions. Also, I would especially be grateful for your prayers!

I have known you a long time and your heart is for the good of others. Your description what you plan to do with your certificate sounds like a great statement of purpose. Having lived with the experience, you know how useful ABA can be and your purpose is to provide as much as is possible the care you know others need but cannot afford.

I cannot think of any higher calling. You may also want to add that you hope to add to the body of knowledge concerning the effectiveness of ABA through your own research. Keep it as simple as possible.

    Just my thoughts.

I would love to hear from you!
